The Nokia 6 Android smartphone was listed for flash sale on 18.1.2017 at JD.Com and over 100,000 thousand people pre-ordered the device in a 60-second window. The registered users had to pay a $9 registration fee which would be deducted from the phone’s final price. Given the interest in Nokia smartphone, Chinese citizens thronged to JD.com in China and purchased the device which was out of stock in under 60 seconds, according to Anzhuo. The Nokia 6 may have made a world record for selling so many units within a minute. JD.com is a big Chinese retailer specialising in smartphone flash sales. It did not disclose how many units were sold. Anzhuo reported that JD.com may be holding another flash sale for Nokia 6 soon.

Nokia through its partner HMD seems to be testing the waters before it launches its flagship P1 which is expected to hit the market in end February or early March. Rumors from the past few days say the flagship Nokia P1 will run Qualcomm’s latest processor, Snapdragon 835 and sport a design similar to Sharp’s Aquos Xx3. It could have a 5.3-inch IGZO display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Rear camera capacity could reach 24MP and the price might start at $800.
