To confirm the India launch date for the Yu Yuphoria smartphone, the company took to Twitter. The tweet said, “The moment of Yuphoria is coming. Have you blocked your calendar?”

— YU (@YUplaygod) May 1, 2015 Earlier this month, Yu had confirmed that its next Cyanogen OS smartphone, in the past codenamed Project Caesar, will be now called Yuphoria. The official name of the next smartphone from Yu was crowdsourced. The company via its social platform had carried out a naming campaign called “#YUNameIt” and stated that it got over 100,000 entries. The domestic handset manufacturer had been of late teasing its upcoming smartphone. The company already confirmed that the Project Caesar smartphone would run Android 5.0 Lollipop. The company in the past even teased Xiaomi’s Mi devices that still ran Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box while Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop has been around for some time. Details about the “Project Caesar” phone are restricted at the moment. More details about Micromax’s Yu Yuphoria phone are expected to be revealed as the launch nears. Just to go back, Yu Televentures in collaboration with Cyanogen last year had offered a customised user experience to its buyers of Yureka smartphone and resorted to an online sale strategy to take on other brands such as Motorola and Xiaomi among others.
